These Terms of Service govern your use of KitchenReady, operated by [Your Name / Business Name] ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account you agree to these terms.

1. The service

KitchenReady is a food safety record-keeping application designed to help UK home caterers maintain digital records in line with the Food Standards Agency's Safer Food Better Business (SFBB) guidelines.

KitchenReady is a record-keeping tool, not a compliance guarantee. It helps you maintain the records an EHO may wish to inspect, but we make no warranty that using KitchenReady will ensure you pass an inspection or meet all your legal obligations. You remain responsible for complying with all applicable food safety laws and regulations.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
• You are responsible for keeping your password secure. Do not share your account credentials.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• One account may be used for one food business. If you operate multiple businesses, please create separate accounts.
• You must provide accurate information when registering. Using a false email address or business name is grounds for account termination.

3. Acceptable use

You may not use KitchenReady to:

• Enter false or fabricated food safety records
• Attempt to access another user's account or data
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or disrupt the service
• Use the service in any way that violates applicable UK law

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms without notice.

4. Free and Pro plans

Free plan: All 7 SFBB sections are available. Diary and temperature history is limited to the most recent 90 days. Allergen records are limited to 15 recipes. There is no charge for the free plan.

Pro plan: Unlimited diary and temperature history. Unlimited allergen recipes. Email reminders when your 4-weekly review is due. Priority support. Charged at £4.99/month or £39/year (inclusive of VAT).

Prices may change. We will give at least 30 days' notice of any price increase, and existing subscribers will not be affected until their next renewal.

5. Billing and cancellation

• Pro subscriptions are billed in advance (monthly or annually) via Stripe.
• You may cancel at any time from Account Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer partial-period refunds.
• If your payment fails, we will retry up to three times over seven days. If payment cannot be collected, your account will revert to the free plan.
• Annual subscriptions may be eligible for a refund within 14 days of purchase if you have not used the Pro features. Contact us to request this.

6. Your data

You own all the food safety records you enter into KitchenReady. We do not claim any rights over your content.

You may export all your data at any time in JSON or CSV format. If you close your account, your data is retained for 30 days before permanent deletion, giving you time to export if needed.

7. Service availability

We aim to keep KitchenReady available at all times but cannot guarantee 100% uptime. Planned maintenance will be notified in advance where possible. We are not liable for any losses resulting from service downtime.

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the service with reasonable notice. In the event of discontinuation, we will provide at least 30 days' notice and the ability to export all your data.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, KitchenReady is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for:

• Any failed food safety inspection, enforcement action, or fine
• Any loss of data (though we take reasonable precautions to prevent this)
• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service

Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service. We will notify you by email at least 14 days before any material change takes effect. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
